Not a Cloud in the sky today

It's a beautiful day in the Bay Area.. Nothing but sunshine. I don't see a single Cloud. When I think of Clouds, the words "cold", "stormy", "windy" come to mind... We've had a lot of Clouds this Winter. Don't get me wrong of course, there are times when I welcome Clouds. When it's too hot or when we need some rain because of a drought, Clouds are great. Most days, however, I much prefer a nice, clear, Cloud-less day.. even if it's a cold day.

Now that I think of it, the very best days are those mostly clear days with a few Clouds to bring on a little shade and coolness. On those days, I really welcome them. That's the thing about Clouds... While they're not the preference for everyday (we all want some sun, right?), they definitely have a place and a purpose. I just wouldn't want all Cloud all the time...

New Caltrain trains

I missed my normal 6:59AM train this morning, but that's ok because I get to hop on a newer train. This "baby bullet" takes an hour and gets me to San Jose right after the earlier train. This newer train has nicer, cleaner(!!) seats and outlets to stay powered up the entire trip. That's good because my 3 year old MBP can barely make it an hour unless I turn the screen brightness all the way down. Anyway, have a great Friday!

Asian Art Museum presents Lords of the Samurai

Most likely going to the Asian Art Museum in the City tonight to check out "Lords of the Samurai". I heard about this from a colleague a couple months ago, and he said it was amazing! He was ecstatic about how the swords that were forged as early as the 1100's looked like they could have been made today (meaning they were still in *PERFECT* condition). All this made me very curious to check the exhibit out myself. Thursday is the only day of the week the Asian Art Museum is open past 5PM, plus its only $10 ($7 discount). If anyone is interested in joining Charlene and me tonight, hit us up!

Grabbed some Filipino food in the City

Had a nice spread of food yesterday and it was quite reasonably priced. Sinigang, kare kare, lumpia, and pansit. All pretty good, plus they gave us a nice, warm drink, which was actually a cup of hot sinigang broth! That was really good! Our little table was covered in food and reminded me of the meals we had in the Philippines... But not quite as large. All in all, a great experience.

Giants and Caltrain

One of the few days I'm happy my commute is between San Francisco and San Jose: Days of Giants games! All the Giants fans crowd onto Caltrain to go to SF, but I board at the first stop, allowing me to grab a seat. All the stops after San Jose result in lots commuters and fans standing the whole way. Sucks to be them... Today anyway. Sucks to be me on non-game days. =•(

Oh, and I am feeling better now though (since my sneezing this morning). Looking forward to the movie tonight!

Well, not quite the "hood", but this corner is near my apartment in Mission Bay. Philz Coffee is my coffee of choice, usually making it via french press at home. Today, on my first day of vacation, I'm treating Charlene and me to the real stuff. They've got some *secret* ingredients they put in their brew, which make theirs taste different from my homemade coffee. However, I still love what I make at home. My bean of choice from Philz is "Ambrosia".. Yum!
